We are happy to announce the appointment of Tim Shields as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). A software engineering specialist with 25 years’ experience across multiple sectors, Tim assumes the full-time role of CTO having served previously as the Chief Product Officer of DRIVE and Chief Technology and Product Officer of VIVA Investment Partners AG.
Mr. Shields brings considerable and relevant experience of building companies from start-up to scale rapidly. Critically, he has done so across a number of industries, including Military, Telecoms, Work-from-home enabling tech, ERP/Vehicle Logistics and most recently FinTech. We believe that this experience equips Mr. Shields clearly to develop the ODO DRIVE software dashboard as the industry standard for Electric Vehicle (EV) fleet management.
Tim’s technical expertise spans a wide range of platforms, languages, and operating systems. Specifically, his primary focus has been designing, architecture and developing highly scalable, high availability platforms in the cloud (primarily AWS and Azure). Backed by his long history of Software Engineering and development, Tim can bridge the gap between the team of technologists and the rest of the company, ensuring that technology is aligned with commercial strategy, whilst understanding the unique problems presented to the engineering teams by emerging applications.
Prior to joining DRIVE and VIVA, Tim was the Chief Technology Officer of Money Dashboard, a personal financial planning tool. He served also as the head of Technology or Product at a number of scale-up companies.
Commenting on Tim’s appointment, Jo Machin, CEO of ODO DRIVE said:
“To accelerate the growth of ODO DRIVE, we need a CTO who is an expert on building Cloud based systems that are best in class. I put the customer at the heart of everything we do, and I know Tim Shields shares my commitment to ensure ODO DRIVE is the industry standard for EV fleet management.’’
